Nicole Scherzinger’s X Factor exit ‘confirmed’ by Simon Cowell

While confusion has surrounded Nicole Scherzinger’s future on The X Factor, Simon Cowell appears to have confirmed that the singer will not be returning.

The new father – whose girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to his son Eric on Friday – implied on Twitter that the former Pussycat Doll was no longer a part of the show’s line-up, after thanking her for her time on the show.

“Nicole will always be a part of the X factor family. Now signed to Sony as an artist. Thank you Nicole for everything,” he said.

Meanwhile he also dropped hints that news of the 2014 panel could be imminent, saying: “I hope to share some exciting news with you next week.”

Nicole joined the judging panel in 2012 as a replacement for Kelly Rowland, joining fellow judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos.

She steered James Arthur to victory in her very first year, but missed out on a final place this year after her final girl singer, Tamera Foster, finished in fifth place.

Speculation continues to mount over the 2014 X Factor panel, following the news that Simon Cowell would be returning to the show.

Cheryl Cole is also tipped to make a comeback, while Louis Walsh is likely to stay on despite saying he would quit at the end of last year’s series.

Olly Murs, Rita Ora and Robbie Williams have also been rumoured as possible replacement judges.
