Olly Murs has scotched speculation that he will join the X Factor judging panel when the series returns next year.
The Troublemaker singer – who has enjoyed huge chart success since finishing second to Joe McElderry in the 2009 series – had been rumoured to be stepping up to the plate in the wake of Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh’s departures.
However he has now said he will be too busy focusing on his music in 2014.
“I don’t think so,” he said of the possibility of joining the panel. “Next year I’m going to concentrate on getting fit and writing the next album.”
However X Factor clearly remains close to the singer’s heart, as he admitted he was looking forward to this year’s final, which kicks off on Saturday night.
“It’s going to be a great final. All the acts deserve to be there. It will be a great occasion,” he said.
“Sam Bailey is the favourite but everyone is really great so I think it will be a good, entertaining final. I really hope they go out there, have fun and enjoy it and sing their heart out.”
The X Factor final kicks off on ITV at 8pm.
