Olly Murs has denied that he quit The Xtra Factor because his workload was proving too much for him.

The Army Of Two singer, who has recently been touring the UK, took to Twitter to deny rumours that he needed to take some time off.

“Hahaha might not be doing Xtra Factor cos of too much pressure & need a break… UH NO!! That’s not the truth cheers…” he tweeted.

“The truth is Music comes first as it always has…”

Olly – who finished second to Joe McElderry in the 2009 series of the show – has presented the ITV2 X Factor spin-off show with Caroline Flack for the past two years.

And he told The Sun it would be “a shame” not to be appearing again, adding: “I’m gutted because it’s been a huge part of my life for the last two years.

“But I think whoever Caroline decides to pick, whoever the bosses decide to pick to replace me is going to be great. I don’t know if she would do it on her own.”

The singer added: “I’ll always be working because I love working but it’s about getting the balance right.”
