Talking about her acting debut, which was filmed in June on the set in Greenock, Nicola said she had a ‘brilliant day’ and revealed: “I was really nervous to begin with, as this is not something I do every day. I’m fine in the boxing ring, but learning lines and being surrounded by cameras is a little bit different!”

Brogan Ellis, who plays Kacey, reveals she was as nervous as her character about the scenes with Nicola: “Kacey is really star-struck, but I didn’t need to act that bit because I felt exactly the same! This was my most exciting day at work ever. I had been working with boxing trainers for months knowing it was leading to this episode.”
Although this is Nicola’s first appearance in a drama, the internationally respected boxer has also made special guest appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and All Star Family Fortunes – where she and her family took on former England cricketer Michael Vaughan and his clan.
Nicola’s planning to watch the episode, which screens on Thursday, October 31 on BBC1, with her family: “I can’t wait to watch it with my family. I hope they like my acting debut! And I hope all the fans of the show enjoy it as well. I’m so pleased to be part of an inspiring storyline about a young girl being taught to believe in herself.”
