JLS star Oritse Williams and girlfriend AJ Azari have won the ITV dance show Stepping Out following a closely fought final against Brian McFadden and his wife Vogue Williams.
The couple triumphed in the show – which featured celebrities learning to dance with their real-life partners – after wowing both judges and viewers with a rumba and a reprise of their salsa from earlier in the series.
The latter routine won them a perfect 60 out of 60 score from the judges, while they lost just one point in the first round for their efforts.
By contrast Brian and Vogue – who had been neck and neck with Oritse and AJ on the scoreboard during the series – impressed with their rumba but disappointed with their reprisal of their street dance routine.
Four other couples took part in the series, with Denise Welch and husband Lincoln Townley, Glynis Barber and Michael Brandon, and Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen and wife Jackie all being eliminated in previous weeks.
Meanwhile boxer Carl Froch and girlfriend Rachael Cordingley were forced to pull out after he suffered an injury while performing a tricky move during a routine.
It is not yet known whether Stepping Out will return to ITV for a second series.
The show had been billed as a rival to Strictly Come Dancing but failed to pull in big viewing figures, with an average audience of around 3m a show tuning in.
Although previous shows had been on at 6.30pm Saturday’s final was shown at the later time of 7.20pm – forcing a clash with Strictly which had begun 20 minutes earlier.
