Make sure you don't miss Pointless and Pointless Celebrities...
Pointless, fronted by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, has become something of a phenomenon on BBC1.
The quiz has clocked up over 1,000 episodes since it was first broadcast – on BBC2 then – back in 2009.
Here is everything you need to know about hugely popular BBC1 quiz show Pointless…
What time is Pointless and Pointless Celebrities on this week?
Pointless is on Monday-Friday this week (13th-17th May) at 5.15pm, Pointless Celebrities isn’t on.
Who are the stars of Pointless?
Before the hit quiz, Alexander was perhaps best know for his comedy partnership with former Death in Paradise star Ben Miller. He’s also been a regular guest presenter on Have I Got News For You?
When the quiz reached the 1,000th episode milestone, Alexander said: “I imagine it’s probably fairly obvious how much we love making it – but to pass the 1,000th episode mark is a great tribute to a show that so many people work so hard on. Long may it prosper!”
Alexander’s pointless friend Richard has formed a wonderful on screen double act with Armstrong. Talking about the reasons behind the show’s success, Richard, 48, pointed to the fact the show has pairs of players, telling the Radio Times: “If you meet one person, you make a judgement of them, but if you meet a couple, your judgements go through the roof.
“How can they be married? Is he disappointed because his daughter’s a goth? And everyone at home is doing that. So part of the pleasure is in the back-stories.”
Richard stands at 6ft 7 inches, curiously the same height as Mark “The Beast” Labbett from rival show The Chase! Richard is also a hugely successful producer with his credits including Deal or No Deal and 8 out of 10 Cats.
Richard also made a guest appearance in Not Going Out, ending up having a hilarious fight with Lee Mack’s character when he cheats on Pointless! At the time, Richard said Not Going Out was “great fun” to do.
