Saturdays singer Vanessa White has become the second celebrity to get the boot from ITV1’s Popstar To Operastar.

The 20-year-old – who had narrowly escaped elimination on last Friday’s show – found herself in the bottom two for the second week in a row, this time alongside Jimmy Osmond.

And once again the judges were unable to decide who to save, with rocker Meat Loaf and opera star Katherine Jenkins voting to save Osmond.

Both Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen and tenor Rolando Villazon then voted in favour of White – meaning that once again the result was ultimately judged by the public vote.

White was then revealed to have received the lowest number of votes from viewers – but she said afterwards that she had had a “fantastic time” on the show.

“I feel like I gave it my all tonight so I just want to thank everyone who’s voted for me,” she added.

Six celebrities, including Osmond, now remain in the show, in which pop stars learn to peform operatic arias.

Bernie Nolan, Kym Marsh, Darius Campbell, Marcella Detroit and McFly’s Danny Jones all sailed through to next week’s show following the public vote.
