It’s usually unwise to get involved in a verbal joust with a top comedian, but if you’re the future King of England you can usually get away with it.
Prince William doesn’t often get the chance to show off his sense of humour, but comedian Lee Mack reveals how the royal got one over on him when they met at Buckingham Palace.
“Meeting Prince William was a real highlight,” says the Not Going Out star on The Graham Norton Show tomorrow night (BB1, January 24).
“We got to the Palace and he came up to me and said ‘You need some new jokes!’ I was a bit drunk and said ‘I don’t tell you how to be a future King!’ to which he said ‘I was joking, I really like your sitcom.’ I felt a bit bad then.”
Lee Mack will be appearing on Graham’s sofa alongside Kenneth Branagh and Keira Knightley, yet there will also be a special treat for football fans when legendary striker Thierry Henry explains that he’d love to replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager one day.
