Rachel Adedeji has said singer Michael Buble gave her the strength to face a third sing off.
Rachel became the fourth act to leave The X Factor on Sunday night, but said some words of wisdom from the big band crooner helped her get through her third sing off in four weeks.
Rachel said: “Michael Buble gave me the best advice ever. He told me I just need to go out there and stop caring about things and if you love singing just go and do it.”
She added: “I thought if this guy likes me, I’m not going to worry about what the public thinks.”
Rachel left The X Factor after receiving the fewest public votes when the deadlocked judges failed to reach a decision, despite her impressive rendition of Oasis’ Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
She said: “I just said to myself that next time I’m in the bottom two I’m not going to break down, I’m not going to cry, this could be my final performance, so I’m just going to enjoy it – and I just needed the judges to see I enjoy it.”
And her gutsy performances won her the respect of mentor Dannii Minogue. Rachel said: “After the show she said ‘I’m so proud of you, you’re a fighter and I’m supporting you all the way, whatever you want to do.’ She’s a great mentor.”
