We spent a lot of time wanting to be Melissa when we were kids, but find out what's happened to her since those awkward teenage years as Clarissa
Melissa Joan Hart, 41, made us all wish we had magical powers – and a sassy black cat – as Sabrina The Teenage Witch for seven years from 1996. She was even involved with the animated version later. Before that, she was giving big sis advice and making girls laugh in Clarissa Explains It All.
So where’s she been since then?
Behind the cameras. While on Sabrina she directed some episodes, then an episode of Disney Channel’s So Weird, her first movie Mute and a video for her husband Mark Wilkerson’s band Course Of Nature. After Sabrina, she graduated from New York University.
So she’s given up acting then?
Not at all! Melissa’s appeared in Law & Order: SVU, horror thriller Nine Dead (which was produced by her own company Hartbreak Films) and 1999 movie Drive Me Crazy, with future Entourage star Adrian Grenier. They both also appeared in Britney Spears’ video for (You Drive Me) Crazy from the film’s soundtrack.
Yep, she’s got lots of strings to her bow. She did Dancing With The Stars in 2009, an off-Broadway production of Love, Loss And What I Wore in 2010 and released her autobiography in 2013. After marrying Mark in 2003, she’s now mum to three boys: Mason, nine, Brady, seven, and Tucker, two.
In 2006, she opened a sweet shop called Sweetharts.
So what’s she up to now?
Sweetharts sadly closed in 2011, but a year prior she began to star US sitcom Melissa & Joey, alongside Joey Lawrence who you may remember as Joey Russo from Blossom. The sitcom concluded in August 2015 after 4 seasons and 104 episodes
Her sons also inspired Melissa to launch a kids clothing range called King Of Harts in 2013.
She’s also a keep political activist. In March 2018 she joined thousands who marched in Washington D.C for MarchForOurLives which was campaigning for tighter gun controls in the US.
