Rita Ora and Emelie Sande are among those tipped as potential candidates to replace Jessie J on The Voice, following her decision to quit the panel.

According to the Mirror Paloma Faith is also in the running for the job, while Mel B, Florence Welsh and even Cheryl Cole have been tipped as possible replacements.

“Jessie will need to be replaced by another female,” a source told the Mirror, “and it would be great to have someone young and current.

“Paloma Faith, Rita Ora and Emeli Sande are right up there on their wishlist of talent.”

Jessie announced on Friday she was leaving the panel in order to focus on her music, with her second album due out later in 2013.

“I’ve absolutely loved my time on The Voice and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show,” she said.

“I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three showing my support in every way I can and really hope that in some way that I can be part of the show.”

Her departure has fuelled speculation that fellow panellists will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue may not stick around for the next series either.

Will.i.am revealed ahead of last month’s final that he would only return to the panel if all four of the coaches signed up.

“I can’t think about doing it with someone else. It would be weird,” the rapper said.

“I know to look to the left when I’m having a bad day and Jessie will pull some weird-ass face and cheer me up. I know Tom’s going to be all silver berry cool and Danny’s an inspiration.”
