Robbie dismisses X Factor role: ‘I’d miss my dogs’

Robbie Williams has no ambition to become an X Factor judge because he’d miss his pets too much.

The star, who helped Gary Barlow select the final four boys for this year’s show in LA, is too devoted to his eight dogs to want a permanent seat on the ITV1 show, reports The Sun.

He said: “I would like to be in his (Gary’s) position for one night, but not four months.

“What’s the point when I could be at home with the dogs? I didn’t get in this game to work.”

Robbie, 37, whose dogs were bridesmaids at his wedding last year to Ayda Field, praised his Take That bandmate’s performance on the show.

“[Gary] speaks with authority. I work with him and I know he’s in a better position to be sat up there saying what he says than I would be,” the singer said.

Robbie’s turn as guest coach at the judges’ houses stage of the competition, where eight boys were whittled down to four, will be shown this weekend.
