Strictly Come Dancing’s Robbie Savage has said he wants to stay in this year’s show for as long as possible – to give Robbie Williams the chance to fly back to the UK and watch him in action.

The singer was reportedly set to jet back from Los Angeles if the former footballer made it to Saturday’s Wembley Arena show – but unfortunately he will not be in the crowd to see Robbie dance to his hit Let Me Entertain You.

“He’s coming over but he’s been delayed making his new album so he’s going to be coming but when I don’t know. He might miss me now,” Robbie admitted.

The ex-Leicester City star has also said he is surprised by just how exhausting it is preparing for the dance show – which has often involved working 60 hour weeks.

“I’m a footballer,” he said. “We do an hour a day training then go home.”

But despite being sent home from training this week after being taken ill with food poisoning, he has been determined to be fit enough to perform in front of the Wembley crowd.

“I think you’re allowed to take a bye if you’re not well or if you get back problems or something but I’m not doing that,” Robbie said.

“This was my goal to get here and I’ve got here and I’m going to give it my best shot.”
