Jonathan Ross will present the Bafta Film Awards next month.

Writing on his profile page on the networking website Twitter, Jonathan told users he would host the televised show on February 8.

The BBC reports that he’s also planning to try and slip in a joke word and has asked subscribers to his page to make suggestions.

On Wednesday morning, Jonathan wrote: “Thanks for Bafta suggestions. Will whittle them down to a top three then slip one in.”

The presenter will return to Friday Night with Jonathan Ross next week following his three-month suspension for making prank phone calls with Russell Brand on Radio 2.

Tom Cruise, Stephen Fry and comedian Lee Evans are all confirmed to appear on the programme on January 23.

In October 2008, Jonathan stepped down from presenting the British Comedy Awards because he ‘did not want his participation to take away from the awards themselves or the many talented winners’.

The Bafta nominations will be announced on Thursday by actresses Gemma Arterton and Hayley Atwell.
