Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has reportedly been arrested after an incident in which she was caught using her mobile phone while driving.
The singer – who rose to fame on the 2002 series Popstars: The Rivals, was allegedly spotted using the phone while driving down Charing Cross Road in London’s West End.
However the Sunday Mirror reports that she ignored a request from a police officer to pull over, subsequently being arrested and taken to Holborn Police station.
The 31-year-old will now face two charges at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on April 16.
“Sarah was driving in a 4×4 when a policeman on a bicycle saw her and tried to make her stop,” a source told the paper.
“He was trying to flag her down but she carried on a bit down the road where she was pulled over a couple of minutes later.
“Apparently Sarah was very upset when she was arrested and charged. The offences are pretty serious.”
Sarah – who has had a turbulent few years including a spell in rehab and splitting from her DJ fiance Tom Crane, has recently spoken about how she has been getting her life back together.
“I’m a lot calmer,” she revealed. “I still have my hyper days but I take one day at a time. I have learned from my mistakes.”
She recently took to the road with Girls Aloud for what has since emerged as their farewell tour, as well as continuing her burgeoning acting career in the Britflick flop Run For Your Wife.
