Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has admitted that she would never return to the show, even if asked to do so by Simon Cowell.

The 59-year-old – who is currently providing one of the voices on a new Disney Junior show, Jake And The Never Land Pirates – said she would find it “too boring” to return to the panel of a singing show.

However she added that she “absolutely loves” X Factor rival The Voice, whose UK version began on BBC1 a fortnight ago.

“At least with The Voice you listen with your ears not your eyes and that’s the thing that’s so great about it, because it’s just the voice that attracts you, initially,” Sharon said. “And it’s got a different twist to it.

“I love the way the judges interact musically with the contestants. It just makes it so much broader and so much more interesting.”

Sharon also revealed that she loved her continuing role as a judge on America’s Got Talent because of the element of surprise, saying “you never know what’s going to come on the stage next” – but confessed that she would love the chance to return to UK screens.

“You know, I miss it so much. I miss my home, I miss everything about the UK,” she said. It’s my home, it’s where I’m from and you know, I just wish there was something there for me, but there isn’t.”
