Sherlock is set to get a three-day long fan event later this year.

Sherlocked will be the BBC series’ first official convention and will take place later this year, according to Digital Spy.

As yet, no cast attendance, venue or definite dates have been confirmed, but it will be run by Massive Events in association with Hartswood Films and Showmasters Ltd.

It is going to include star guests, special activities, talks, photo shoots and autograph sessions over the three days.

Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and has already run for three series of three episodes each, with a fourth and fifth series being planned.

Steven Moffat, who co-created the show with Mark Gatiss, recently told IGN he had no idea when the next series of Sherlock would air.

He said: “If people have to wait two years, they’ll have to wait two years. [It’s like asking] when’s the next James Bond film?

“It’s not that kind of show that turns up all the time. It’s just not. But the good news is, that probably means it will turn up sporadically for a very, very long while.

“We’ll do what we can [to make the show as quickly as possible] but with no sacrifice in quality.”
