There's drama heading to EastEnders as Honey and Adam part ways, leading to one of them making the shock decision to exit Walford for good...
There’s a shock departure on the cards in EastEnders as actor Stephan Rahman-Hughes, who plays Adam Bateman, bows out of the soap.
The actor, who is better known as Honey Mitchell’s boyfriend in the show, will be leaving his role after one year playing the cheating dentist.
According to the Daily Star, Stephen has already finished filming at EastEnders with a source revealing: “Producers have decided it’s the end of the road for Adam.
“It was decided to write the character out. His turbulent relationship with Honey has kept viewers hooked, but once his cheating is exposed, the storyline comes to a natural end and bosses decided not to renew Stephen’s contract.
“Stephen has been a fantastic part of the show. The decision to axe his character is no reflection on his performance.”
The news that Stephen will be leaving she show comes just after the EastEnders autumn trailer was released.
Along with lots of other huge storylines that will be aired in the coming weeks, the trailer shows Adam being thrown out of the Ahmed house, as well as a heated confrontation between Habiba and Honey.
The trailer hints that Adam’s infidelity is finally set to be revealed after months of lying to Honey… but could it be his affair with Habiba that finally forces him to leave his life in Walford behind?
And where does this leave Honey? Could Billy be the one to win her heart back, or has she been hurt one too many times now?
EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
