It's not long now until Nikki and co are back!
Silent Witness will return to our screens for its 22nd series in January, the BBC has revealed.
Dr Nikki Alexander, played by Emilia Fox, will be back in action on BBC1 on January 8th at 9pm in the opening episode of a two-part story, which will conclude the following night.
Also back for the 10-part series, which sees each story told over two parts, is Dr Jack Hodgson, played by David Caves, Dr Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern) and Clarissa Mullery (Liz Carr).
In the first story, Two Spirits, Nikki and her team are called in to investigate an attack against a trans man.
When further attacks take place, it’s obvious to Nikki that they are facing an outbreak of violence against the trans community.
With the Lyell under a financial cloud, the gang must work harder than ever to bring the killer or killers to justice.
And things go from bad to worse for everyone when DCI Cramer (Johann Myers) releases a key suspect early. Cramer decided to blame the Lyell for the oversight and Thomas offers to take the brunt of the pressure.
But, Thomas finds his career under threat – what will he do next? Is this the end of his time at the Lyell?
Silent Witness of course has always been known for its guest stars and we know at some point during the run former EastEnders star Samantha Womack will appear.
During filming in the summer, she posted a picture on Twitter of herself with the Silent Witness team, tweeting, “Working hard”.
Silent Witness, which is the longest running British crime drama currently on the box, returns to BBC1 on Tuesday January 8th at 9pm.
