Simon Cowell has banned his fellow judges and presenters on The X Factor from inviting their celeb pals to watch the Saturday shows as he wants more ‘real people’ in the audience.

Judges Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue and presenters Dermot O’Leary and Holly Willoughby are normally allowed about 30 tickets each but Simon has put an end to this, The Sun reports.

Instead they will now only get tickets for the Sunday night shows as Simon is worried that celebs turning up on Saturdays takes the limelight away from the singers and towards the star-studded audience.

An email was sent to the show’s team saying: “Big apologies for the delay in confirming this year’s judge allocations for the live shows.

“On Simon’s wishes, to create the right atmosphere the studio is going to be full of a more ‘general public’ audience and so people’s allocations have had to be adjusted accordingly.”
