The 76-year-old actor stars with Sir Ian McKellen, 75, and Frances de la Tour in the hit ITV sitcom about the bickering but devoted couple Freddie and Stuart. The majority of the first series was studio-based, mostly set in the ageing pair’s flat where they insisted on always having the curtains drawn. But for the new run of episodes, Sir Derek has revealed the pair will be seen out and about going to the gym and dance classes

Derek revealed he had just finished filming the new series and expects it to hit screens in June.
The Last Tango In Halifax star is playing a king in Disney’s new live action film of Cinderella, directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh.
The Shakespearean actor said: “I’ve sat on many a throne, yes! But this was the first time for Disney, and it was such a marvellous experience.
“Working for Ken is so wonderful, Ken and I go back a long way, about 30 years I think, and each time we work together, it’s been sensational.”
