Sky Atlantic, Sky’s new digital channel, launches on Tuesday night with the hotly anticipated new drama Boardwalk Empire.

The new channel will debut at 8pm with an hour-long promo, Let The Stories Begin, with the Martin Scorsese-directed drama, starring Steve Buscemi, following at 9pm.

Sky Atlantic will be the only place to watch HBO dramas, after Sky agreed an exclusive deal with the network.

Other highlights in its line-up include the seventh series of Entourage, post-Hurrican Katrina drama Treme and cop drama Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg.

Sky Atlantic has also secured the rights to show the fifth series of the critically acclaimed Mad Men, previously shown on BBC4 in the UK.

The channel will also be showing classics from HBO’s back catalogue such as The Sopranos, The Wire and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Sky Atlantic is available to Sky subscribers on channel 108.
