Film director George Lucas has hinted that the blockbusting Star Wars saga is set to continue – in the form of a TV series.
According to the US website ew.com, the filmmaker is set to meet with freelance writers in Los Angeles next week.
They will be invited to spend a week at his Skywalker Ranch in November to come up with ideas for the series – and then given the job of writing 13 episodes of the show, which Lucas will produce.
Lucas, who is based in San Francisco, reportedly began hiring writers for the project as early as February 2006.
However he is now said to be keen to work with writers from countries outside of the US.
Details of the actual series remain under wraps, but fans have speculated it would fill in the gap in the storyline between the end of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
