Stephen Fry to play Prime Minister in London-set 24

Stephen Fry has become the latest addition to the cast of 24: Live Another Day, which is currently filming in London.

According to US website Deadline the actor and comedian will play Prime Minister Trevor Davies alongside cast regular Kiefer Sutherland in the new miniseries.

The site describes Stephen’s character as ‘a strong and charismatic leader’, whose relationship with the US president is threatened by an ensuing crisis.

The series, which picks up four years after the last 24 left off, sees Kiefer reprise the role of Jack Bauer, this time fighting a terrorist threat in the UK.

Shooting kicked off earlier this week with cast and crew spotted filming scenes around Aldgate in the east of the city.

Meanwhile Kiefer – who presented a prize at the National Television Awards last week – has admitted that returning to the hit franchise is daunting.

“I’m terrified, I won’t lie to you,” he said at a recent press conference to launch the series.

“Until we start shooting I’m as anxious and wound up as I’ve been in a long time.”

24: Live Another Day – which unlike previous series, will take place over the course of 12 hours – will be screened on Sky One this Spring.
