Strictly bosses fear Ali may be too sick to dance

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly worried that Ali Bastian – one of the favourites to win the competition – might have to miss this weekend’s show after catching a mystery virus from her dance partner.

The Bill star had thought she might have swine flu after falling ill yesterday but has promised fans that she will still dance on Saturday, reports The Sun.

Ali and her partner Brian attended a rehearsal yesterday despite both being ill.

A friend of the actress told the newspaper: “We were petrified Ali had caught swine flu, but she has been downplaying it. She made it to her rehearsal but she fears it getting worse.

“She is due to perform the American smooth with her very own smooth American, Brian, and she really wants to put in a good show.”

Meanwhile, BBC bosses have given in and moved Strictly to an earlier time so that there’s less of an overlap between the dance show and its rival The X Factor.

Fans of the show had complained that they couldn’t watch both of the Saturday night favourites because of the clash.

From October 31 Strictly will be on from 6.50 till 8.45pm and X Factor will start at 8pm.

Freesat viewers can now watch Strictly in HD for free.
