Strictly Come Dancing champion Tom Chambers is trying to find a homeless man he met when he was a teenager.
Tom, 31, promised the man that if he ever made it big he would find him and transform his life. Now he wants to honour his unusual pledge.
Tom told the Daily Mirror: “He was called Dave and I dropped him off at a church in Uttoxeter. He gave me his life story which was really sad.
“I vowed to him that if I ever made it big, he should contact me and I’d help him out financially. If he’s reading this, I’d love to hear from him because I never forgot our chat. I’d recognise him straight away if he got in touch with me.”
Tom triumphed in the Strictly Come Dancing final on Saturday night in front of almost 13 million viewers and the man who stars in his last episode of Holby City on Tuesday evening has had numerous offers of work since the weekend.
“I’d love to star in a drama with a twist – imagine the Royle Family, but with dancing. I think it’d be great.”
