Ex Strictly Come Dancing star has warm message for professionals
Brendan Cole has shown that Strictly Come Dancing is still very much on his mind as he sent out a sunny message to all the professional dancers as rehearsals began for the new series.
The New Zealand-born star had always been one of the faces of Strictly, claiming the show’s first Glitterball trophy back in 2004 with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky.
But Brendan of course was axed from the show earlier this year and said at the time it was “hard to talk about”.
However, while on holiday Brendan sent out the following message to the show’s dancers: “This is a message to all of my Strictly Come Dancing friends who are back in the studio today as one of series 16 – guys, wishing you the very best for the brand new season.
“For the new guys, congratulations on joining the show. You’re going to have a ball. To my old friends, I miss you lots but I can’t wait to see and hear what you’ve been up to. We’ll catch up very, very soon. Lots of love.”
The Strictly dancers have already shared their excitement about starting rehearsals. Dancer Gorka Marquez was among those taking to the dance floor, and he tweeted: “We are back!! @bbcstrictly 2018 starts today. Excited for my 3rd series.
“Who will be sharing the dance floor with me and learning to not only dance, but also trying to understand my Spanish Accent? #strictly2018.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns this autumn.
