Actress Laila Rouass has missed out on a place in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final after becoming the latest celebrity to be voted off.

The Footballers Wives star lost out after she and dance partner Anton du Beke found themselves in the bottom two alongside Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe.

However after both had reprised one of their routines from the show, the judges voted to save Ricky and Natalie, who had finished top of the scoreboard earlier in the evening.

Afterwards Rouass was full of praise for her dance partner.

“We’ve had such a good time and it’s been such a dream dancing with him for the past three months,” she said.

Du Beke, meanwhile, descried Rouass as an “absolute joy”. “Not once has she moaned or complained,” he said. “Thank you so much.”

Earlier in the evening the pair had finished bottom of the judges’ scoreboard after being criticised for their American Smooth and salsa routines.

Craig Revel Horwood described their American Smooth as “clumsy” while Bruno Tonioli said of their salsa, “I’ve never seen such a mess in the quarter final.”

Ricky and Natalie now go forward to next week’s semi-final, joining Ali Bastian and Chris Hollins, who both won through on the public vote.
