Lisa Snowdon has finished third in Strictly Come Dancing 2008 after receiving the lowest number of votes from the public.

The model and TV presenter – who was partnered with Brendan Cole – lost out to fellow finalists Tom Chambers and Rachel Stevens, who will now go on to compete for the series title.

Snowdon thanked the audience for their support and added that her time on the show had been “brilliant”.

“I already feel like a winner,” she said, I’ve had the best time, and thank you to the judges for all your compliments.”

And Cole was also full of praise for his celebrity dance partner. “This girl is fantastic and she deserves to be here tonight.”

Earlier in the evening Snowdon had received full marks from the judges for her two routines – a foxtrot and cha cha cha.

“Last time I said your dance was almost perfect, this time it was better,” Craig Revel Horwood said of her foxtrot, while Arlene Phillips was similarly enthusiastic. “You are living proof there are no short cuts to a dream,” she told her.

The remaining two couples will now perform a group Viennese Waltz and a show dance routine in their final bid to win the series.
