Strictly Come Dancing performer Vincent Simone has told the News Of The World he wanted Alesha Dixon to win – instead of his partner Flavia Cacace.
The dancer – whose own show partner, Stephanie Beacham, was voted out early in the series – is said to have told friends that he was supporting the former Mis-teeq singer due to his dislike of Matt Di Angelo, Flavia’s dance partner.
He has been angered in recent weeks by reports in the tabloids that the EastEnders star has been romancing Flavia.
“What has been so annoying for me is that he could have quashed all this nonsense about him and Flavia,” Vincent told the paper.
“But he deliberately played it up to win more votes,” he added.
“The producers of the show love their romance as well and did stupid things like the flirt-o-meter. Don’t they realise they’re dealing with real relationships here?”
But Vincent admitted it wasn’t just jealously that led him to back Alesha – he also thought she was the better dancer.
“Of course she should beat Matt,” he said before the final. “We can’t have a boy like him winning Strictly.”
“I know he likes girls but he is so pretty he looks like a girl too.”
