Strictly’s Abbey stretches herself with hubby Peter Crouch’s help

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Abbey Clancy has been roping in lanky husband Peter Crouch to train – because his height is forcing her to improve her posture.

Model Abbey said her stance was her prime concern as she gets ready for her first live Strictly Come Dancing show in a fortnight alongside her professional partner on the BBC1 show Aljaz Skorjanec.

And in order to get it right, the mother-of-one has been getting in extra steps at home with 6ft 7in Stoke City striker Peter who is keeping her stretched in the ballroom hold.

She said: “I have got horrendous posture, that is what we are focusing on at the minute, the hold.

“It feels like such an awkward position to be in – head stretched, its uncomfortable and unnatural. But with practice, I’ll get it. Peter and I had a practice at home, I’ve been trying to teach Peter the waltz,” she added.

Meanwhile, her dancefloor rival Rachel Riley from Channel 4’s Countdown has not impressed her partner Pasha Kovalev with her movements so far.

She said: “Pasha was using a chair earlier to go through the routine as it has more grace and elegance than me.”

However she has found her mental dexterity as a numbers expert has helped with her preparations for the show, because she has become adept at using memory techniques to learn her routines.
