Strictly Come Dancing‘s Len Goodman has welcomed the arrival of Darcey Bussell – saying she will stop him rowing with Craig Revel Horwood.

Goodman – who has clashed with Revel Horwood several times during this series, told the News Of The World that the ballerina should prevent any further bust-ups as she is sitting between the pair of them.

“I’m very glad Darcey is turning up because I don’t like sitting next to Craig,” he said.

“It’s a bit like when two blokes are going to have a fight. You need someone to hold you back.”

And the veteran judge added that often he hit out at Revel Horwood in order to defend the celebrity dancers from his venomous remarks.

“Craig can look someone in the face and say, ‘That was absolutely horrific’. I couldn’t do it,” Goodman said.

“When I have a go at him, I’m doing it on behalf of celebrity. He had a horrible go at Ricky Groves one week and last week it was poor Laila Rouass and her Charleston.”

Actress Rouass became the latest celebrity to leave on Saturday night’s show, with Ricky Whittle, Ali Bastian and Chris Hollins remaining to compete in next weekend’s semi-final.
