Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman is set to make his film debut in a new British movie, alongside veteran actress Virginia McKenna.
The BBC News website reports that the 65-year-old will play a teacher at a village dance club in the low-budget feature Love/Loss.
The film is about two childhood sweethearts played by McKenna and actor Keith Michell, who meet by chance 60 years after they first fell in love.
McKenna – best known for her role in the 60s classic Born Free – said she was “delighted” to be working with Goodman.
“I used to be glued to Strictly,” the 78-year-old said. “I’ll stumble around. I used to dance a lot, so I can pick up a gentle waltz.”
The movie is currently being filmed in Hertfordshire.
Goodman returns to the Strictly Come Dancing fray when the series returns to screens in September.
This year, the Sunday evening results show has been abandoned in favour of a longer Saturday show – while new judge Alesha Dixon replaces Arlene Phillips on the panel.
