Louis Smith has apologised for spilling the beans about Sid Owen being axed from Strictly Come Dancing before the show went out on TV.
The gymnast accidentally gave away the result of the Strictly elimination on Saturday night when he fired off a tweet offering his commiserations to ousted EastEnders star Sid.
He told The Sun: “I couldn’t believe I accidentally gave the game away about the result.
“The fans have been amazing to me and the last thing I’d want to do is ruin the surprise.
“It was such an emotional night and we were all exhausted. I just completely forgot for a second when I was tweeting, but realised straight away and deleted it.
“I’m so sorry if I spoilt it for anyone, I won’t be doing it again, that’s for sure.”
Louis topped the leaderboard on Saturday night after his performance, with partner Flavia Cacace, to Rihanna’s Disturbia.
He said that he will be dancing the samba on this weekend’s show, adding: “Latin is very hard to get great scores for, so I’m really trying to work on the hip action.”
