Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer is the latest celebrity confirmed to be competing in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The presenter, chef and Liverpool FC fanatic announced the news on Sunday Brunch this morning.
In a BBC statement, Simon said: “I am so excited, terrified and proud to be invited to be part of Strictly 2017. I’ve always been a HUUUUGE fan of the show. When I put on my sequins and hit the floor it will genuinely be my very first time dancing ballroom and latin. Nobody will try harder, have more fun or get more out of it than me. I can’t wait.”
Simon revealed how he has never danced before, and is taking Pilates classes to help get him in shape.
He joins fellow celebrities Mollie King, Davood Ghadami, Ruth Langsford, Gemma Atkinson, Revd. Richard Coles and Joe McFadden in his fight to lift the Glitterball trophy.
The 15th series of Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens later this year, but a date has not yet been confirmed.
In May it was revealed that Shirley Ballas will be taking over Len Goodman’s role as head judge following Len’s retirement last year.
The stars will battle it out for the title of Strictly Come Dancing winner, which was claimed by BBC Sports presenter Ore Oduba last year.
