It was a rough night for X Factor favourite Tamera Foster after she forgot the words of her song mid-performance.
The 16-year-old had been singing the Shirley Bassey Bond theme Diamonds Are Forever on Saturday night’s British-themed show when she stumbled midway through – looking panicked as she attempted to remember the lyrics.
And the stumble did not go unnoticed by the judges in spite of praise for her performance.
“It is bitter sweet because it was your best performance to date but then you forgot your words,” Sharon Osbourne observed.
“No-one would have known if you hadn’t pulled that face, but it was your best performance.”
However Louis Walsh offered some words of encouragement, telling her: “I think you lost the words but you picked yourself up and kept going. Well done.”
Tamera was one of seven remaining acts who took to the stage for Saturday night’s X Factor.
The patriotic show also saw Hannah Barrett singing the Rolling Stones’ classic Satisfaction, while Luke Friend took on Elton John’s Your Song.
Sam Bailey, meanwhile, delivered a triumphant performance of the Beatles Something, Rough Copy tackled Coldplay hit Viva La Vida and Sam Callahan brought a guitar on stage for his rendition of George Michael’s Faith.
The show was completed by Nicholas MacDonald performing the Adele chart-topper Someone Like You.
The results will be revealed on Sunday evening’s show from 8pm, which will also feature performances by Gary Barlow and controversial singer Miley Cyrus.
