The stars of cult children’s TV show Tiswas are getting back together for a one-off special.

The original team of Chris Tarrant, Sally James, Lenny Henry, Bob Carolgees, John Gorman, Sylvester McCoy and Frank Carson are joining forces for Tiswas Reunited, a celebration of the first and, arguably, most groundbreaking Saturday morning kids’ series in the history of British television.

Featuring such segments as compost corner, phantom flan flinger, flan your folks and the cage, Tiswas was must-see TV in the 70s. It provided the launchpad for the careers of Chris Tarrant and Lenny Henry.

Due to be screened on ITV1 in the spring, Tiswas Reunited promises to be the biggest, noisiest, messiest, most colourful show that Saturday night television has seen for some time, claim its makers.

Many celebrities who took part in Tiswas and were pivotal to the show’s success will be among the audience, ready to give their own personal anecdotes of their time on Tiswas.
