Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher is reportedly being lined up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Hollywood actress – who played Susan Delfino in the long-running show – is said to have been contacted with regard to appearing on the show, with the Star on Sunday reporting the BBC is prepared to pay big bucks to secure her services.

“They have wanted Teri for a long time and have offered her huge sums of money to do it,” a source told the paper.

“Teri loves to dance so she was very excited when she first received the offer.”

The insider added: “Unfortunately she’s been too busy in the past, but she’s doing everything she can to make it work this time around.”

If Teri does sign up she won’t be the first Hollywood star to have been courted by British reality shows.

ITV tried a similar tactic when they secured Pamela Anderson to appear on this year’s series of Dancing On Ice – but unfortunately for them their efforts to secure a big US name backfired when the former Baywatch star was voted out in the first week.

Other names rumoured for this year’s series of Strictly include TV presenter Anneka Rice, actress Donna Air, former footballers Fabrice Muamba and Michael Owen and singer turned reality show judge Cheryl Cole.

The show will return for its tenth anniversary series in the autumn.
