The Croods Ì?å© 2012 DreamWorks Animation LLC. All Rights ReservedWe want you to tell us which was 2013′s best animated film – and help decide the winner of the Animation category in this year’s Richard Attenborough Film Awards. You can cast your vote on the Animated Film of the Year website but to help you make up your mind we’re posting brief reviews of the 10 nominated films over the next 10 days; next up is The Croods.

A prehistoric caveman (voiced by Nicolas Cage) fears for the future of his rebellious teenage daughter (Emma Stone) in this boisterous and warm-hearted animated comedy adventure. With a story co-devised by John Cleese, The Croods blends energetic action scenes, knockabout slapstick humour and lush visuals, but what gives the film its particular charm is the all too recognisable relationship at its heart between an overprotective father and feisty daughter.

“The Stone Age according to DreamWorks means Nicolas Cage as a caveman“. Read the full review.
