The BBC has released the first new images of its leads Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan from the third and final series of The Fall
Serial killer Paul Spector is in rude health judging by the first pictures released from the third and final series of The Fall.
The series two finale of the BBC2 hit saw a badly injured Spector (Jamie Dornan) lying bleeding in the arms of Detective Inspector Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) after a devastating ambush where he was shot.
However, the new pic shows Spector simply displaying a few small cuts as he poses in a tunnel.
Could this mean the new series goes back in time before Spector was shot? And, what are we to make of Gibson talking into her phone?
Creator Allan Cubitt has said that he’s delighted to be taking the characters once again on a ‘macabre, obsessive dance of death’ although he refused to give away any plot details.
Colin Morgan, who returns as Detective Sergeant Tom Anderson, recently revealed in a video interview with us that fans wouldn’t be disappointed. “Alan has written stunning scripts – I think his third season is the strongest so far,” he says.
Series regulars John Lynch, Valene Kane, Stuart Graham, Bronagh Waugh and Aisling Franciosi are also back. New cast include Krister Henriksson (Wallander), Richard Coyle (Crossbones), Aidan McArdle (Mr Selfridge) and Ruth Bradley (Humans).
The Fall will return this autumn.
