The House of Magic | Film review – Ginger kitten’s quirky adventures will leave young viewers purring

House of Magic

With its cute ginger kitten hero and a captivating supporting cast of quirky magical automata charming Belgian-made animated adventure The House of Magic will leave young viewers purring. Compared with Disney and Pixar’s best efforts, the script and voice cast are a little lacklustre, it has to be said, but when the plucky young cat joins forces with a collection of clockwork gizmos and some other animals to defend a retired magician’s rambling mansion from his scheming estate agent nephew, the animation has such zip that it’s easy to forgive the film’s flaws.
