The Returned is set to Channel 4 for a second series.
The French supernatural thriller has been a hit for the channel in the UK and is the first subtitled drama they have shown in more than 20 years.
Now the broadcaster has struck a deal to acquire the rights to the follow-up series, which will be shown next year.
Set in the French Alps, the series follows a town thrown into chaos by the reappearance of its long-dead residents and the threat of a cannibalistic serial killer.
It was created by Fabrice Gobert, features an atmospheric soundtrack by Mogwai and is based on the 2004 film Les Revenants by Robin Campillo.
The Returned hurtles towards its chilling conclusion this Sunday (July 28) and Channel 4 have confirmed fans can look forward to its return, with filming beginning early in 2014 for an air date later next year.
