The Voice hit by battle rounds ‘fixing’ row

The Voice has run into trouble amid claims that Jessie J ‘arranged’ a steal for one of her acts during the battle rounds.

Saturday night’s show saw the Price Tag singer choose teenager Letitia Grant Brown for the next stage of the competition over her opponent Alex Buchanan.

However The Sun has claimed that Jessie had already arranged with Danny O’Donoghue for him to ‘steal’ Alex for his team, after admitting she found it impossible to choose between them.

“Jessie took Danny to one side before the show and said that she preferred Letitia’s voice, but didn’t want to see Alex leave,” a source told the paper.

“So the pair agreed she would take Letitia through and Danny would save Alex. Viewers were led to believe Jessie was facing a decision between the artists based on their battle, but it was already a done deal.”

The source added that it made a ‘mockery’ of the battle rounds system.

Alex was seen sparking a bidding war between and Danny on Saturday night as both pressed their buttons to steal the singer.

He eventually picked Danny after the Script singer convinced him they were the ‘right match’ – with the audience chanting his name in agreement.

The Voice‘s battle rounds came to an end on Saturday night’s show, with the remaining 28 finalists now progressing to the knockout stage to be whittled down to 12.
