It’s week three of The X Factor 2010 and the auditions have reached London and Birmingham. Among those making their mark this week was Liam Payne, who narrowly missed out on the live shows in 2008 and came back for another try
The success of John and Edward has prompted plenty of twins to take part this year. Identical duo Bejon weren’t popular with everybody….
….but French duo Twem were a hit with the audience, as well as Cheryl and Louis
LA-based rocker Storm Lee Gardner fell foul of Simon for his ‘rock star’ name – but there was no denying the power of his voice
The teens were out in full force this week – here’s 16-year-old Ruth Ann St Luce, who sailed through to the next round
And Simon was very impressed with care worker John Adeleye
In Birmingham however, housewife Patti Eleode didn’t do so well with her out of tune rendition of For Your Eyes Only – the audience loved it, the panel didn’t
But 16-year-old Cher Lloyd went down a storm, with Cheryl calling her audition “my favourite so far”
Student Chad Kennedy became possibly the first auditionee in history to bring his lyrics on stage on a sheet
The High Street Boys were swiftly sent back to the high street after their audition failed to make an impact
Scott Archer fancied himself as the next Elton John – but the judges weren’t so sure
And there was no luck for pensioner Brenda Morris – whose flamboyant audition did little to win the judges over
However tribute band singer Keri Arindell was described as “special” by Louis and won her place in boot camp
Retired PE teacher Wagner also found himself a place in the next round with his operatic singing
And Justin Vanderhyde also fared well, despite Cheryl saying he looked like an “action figure”
Remember Treyc Cohen from the judges houses in 2009? She’s back for another go – can she go one better this time around?
The most memorable audition though belonged to duo Ablisa, who were booed by the crowd before they had even started singing. It came to an abrupt end when singer Abbey punched bandmate Lisa and stormed off. And no, they didn’t make it through…..
