What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Friday 16th February

First Dates: Valentine’s Special, 9.00pm, C4

Love is certainly in the air at the First Dates restaurant with more singles hoping to find their perfect match on the most romantic day of the year. First up is hairdresser Dominique and 28-year-old Buddy. Both come across as super confident, chatty and outgoing but both had lonely childhoods and seem to hit it off right from the start. Isaac, 30, has been through a really tough time, but things are looking up for this big softie when he meets his gorgeous date, Maya. While 25-year-old Disney fan James is hoping for a fairy-tale ending to his date, Sue, 72, has had enough of fireworks and would be happy with a “slow ember” – and someone who looks like Jeremy Corbyn! Rating: ****

Cruising with Jane McDonald, 9.00pm, C5

The Yorkshire chanteuse is on fine form as she sails round the coast of Iceland, visiting various hard-to-pronounce places! Boarding the modest Ocean Diamond in Reykjavík, our Jane admits she may have been on grander boats but the cosy feel and warm welcome win her round. Over nine days Jane goes whale watching, sees the Northern Lights, visits a puffin sanctuary and braves the freezing outdoors for a dip in the naturally heated waters. As usual we’re all just waiting for Ms McDonald’s musical-number finale, and this week’s doesn’t disappoint: her version of Björk’s It’s Oh So Quiet will make your Friday night unforgettable… Rating: ****

Requiem, 9.00pm, BBC1

This cracking thriller gets more captivating by the week. We’ve not learned much about grouchy barmaid Trudy yet, but that all changes when surprising details come to light about Carys’s disappearance… Meanwhile, although PC Graves warns Matilda not to hound the Morgans, she persists and has another emotive encounter with Rose, where she insists that she is her long-lost daughter. But as Rose grows increasingly upset, how will she react? Rating: ****
