TV Times top picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Friday 3rd August

Celebrity 5 Go Caravanning, 8pm, Channel 5

It’s the final leg of the gang’s caravanning trip to Cornwall and they are certainly bowing out in style! Much to their delight, they get a rest from towing their caravans as they move into static ones, but that doesn’t stop them getting out and about as the boys take a trip to the pretty fishing village of Polperro, while Sonia and Sherrie get on their bikes to cycle the Camel Trail. Sherrie’s not thrilled at the prospect, but she’s spurred on by the tipple waiting at a vineyard at the end of their ride! Finally, the campers go head to head in a pilot gig racing challenge on the Helford River. Who will emerge victorious and will they still be talking as they share a farewell ice cream?! Rating: ****

Jane McDonald & Friends, 9pm, Channel 5

Almost single-handedly supporting the sequin industry, Jane McDonald and her entertainment extravaganza bounces into its fifth week with more guests who love nothing more than belting out a tune. Alongside singer Alexandra Burke and soap and stage star Hayley Tamaddon, there’s Holby City actor and Strictly 2008 winner Tom Chambers. A sparkly line-up. Rating: ****

Gardeners’ World, 9pm, BBC2

It’s just possible that your garden might have been a touch parched over the past few weeks. If so, tonight’s show will be a welcome ray of, er, sunshine, as Monty Don gives advice on how to cope with drought, especially when it comes to vegetables, fruit, flowers and containers. Plus, a look at a garden that’s been created on the tiniest of budgets, with many of the plants on display having been rescued, bought cheap or swapped. Rating: ****
