Googlebox, 9pm, C4

We love Friday nights, but they’re even more enjoyable when Gogglebox is on C4, and it returns for its 12th glorious series tonight. As well as some familiar faces, such as the bone dry Sid Siddiqui and his sons, Baasit and Umar, from Derby, and hilarious naive/knowing best friends Mary and Marina from Bristol, expect to see some new characters having their say on the last seven days’ telly. Celebrity MasterChef, 8.30pm, BBC1

The heats continue with the four remaining celebs given a fresh set of challenges, beginning with the new Pairs Challenge and a mass-catering task that involves making lunch for 100 people! Back at MasterChef HQ, the number of diners to cater for is smaller but no less scary: as well as wowing John and Gregg, the chefs must impress 2010 winner Lisa Faulkner, 2015 champ Kimberly Wyatt and 2015 finalist Rylan Clark-Neal. Easy peasy! Rating: ****

Britain by Bike, 8pm, Channel 5

This sweet father-and-son travelogue continues as Larry and George Lamb head to Snowdonia National Park. It’s a trip down memory lane for Larry who first visited as a 17-year-old London lad who had never seen a mountain before. George, on the other hand, is a little less enthusiastic about the Welsh weather! But things start to brighten up when the pair go llama racing and then milk a few sheep. They also have a go on the longest and fastest zip wire in the world. Rating: ***
