The tables are turned on MI5 agent Grace as Renko and Hicks attempt to frame her for murder, but you can bet this cool customer won’t be going down without a fight. Modus, from 9.00pm, BBC4

A new series brings a new case for criminal profiler Inger Johanne Vik (Melinda Kinnaman), who’s now pregnant and settled down with kindly cop Ingvar from series one. However, as the gripping Swedish drama returns with a double bill, the loved-up law enforcers’ domestic bliss is soon (predictably) disrupted. Stockholm is preparing for a state visit from Helen Tyler, the US president (Kim Cattrall) – and there’s a shock for Inger when she spots in the entourage Warren Schifford (an exceptionally creepy Greg Wise), a sinister face from her own past. Schifford is Helen Tyler’s personal advisor – but has he got her interests at heart? And what will he do when he sees Inger again? Rating: ****

Winter Olympics, from 6.00am / BBC1, 2 & 4 / Eurosport 1 & 2

Winter Olympics

After yesterday’s opening ceremony, the Games proper get under way with acres of coverage on the BBC and Eurosport. Highlights today include the men’s downhill skiing (BBC1, times vary, Eurosport 1, 2.00am), with ace Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal competing, while there’ll be lots of UK interest in the progress of Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan in today’s qualifiers for the men’s snowboard slopestyle (Eurosport 1, 9.20am, highlights on BBC2, 7.00pm). Tomorrow, women’s ice hockey, women’s moguls, the men’s luge and the women’s giant slalom set the tone for a week which – considering time differences – will be a punisher for fans of winter sports.
