What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight three of the best shows on telly tonight for Saturday 11th November
Casualty, 8.10pm, BBC1
It’s panic stations for Ethan and Connie tonight, as their secrets become ever harder to hide. When Ethan finds a note in his locker declaring, “I know what you did,” he immediately assumes someone is going to blackmail him. Despite Connie’s pleas to keep calm and carry on, Dr Hardy thinks now might be the time to go to the police. Meanwhile, Alicia becomes Rash’s new mentor – how long before they’re smooching? Murder on the Blackpool Express, 9.30pm, Gold
A coach trip to Blackpool sounds lovely, but not if you’re travelling with this dodgy lot! This blackly comic whodunit finds Johnny Vegas [who’s talked to us about the series] and Sian Gibson on top form as a coach driver and guide leading a tour around locations used in the novels of mystery writer Griff Rhys Jones (hilarious). But they’re horrified when their passengers start dying in macabre ways. The who’s who of acting royalty – from smooth doctor Nigel Havers to troublesome OAP Una Stubbs – playing the shifty tourists are clearly having a ball. It’s all so much fun that we’d love to see it become a regular series. Rating: ****
Strictly Come Dancing, 6.45pm, BBC1
With only one week to go before the razzle dazzle of the Blackpool special, this would be a terrible time for the celebs to go home – nobody wants to miss out on fish and chips! But staying in the competition is getting trickier. All the remaining couples have shown flashes of brilliance, and it only takes one awkward routine to send the frontrunners crashing down the leaderboard. With everyone pulling out all the stops, could there be a shock result this weekend? One thing’s for sure, tomorrow night’s results show will feature Strictly’s traditional Remembrance Day tribute, with an emotional routine from the pros, accompanied by the RAF Spitfires Choir. Rating: *****
More previews tomorrow.
