TV Times top picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Tuesday 15th May

Bulletproof, 9pm, Sky One

With high-octane car chases and spectacular gun battles on the streets of London, this action-packed cop show might contain just about every cliché in the book, but it makes for entertaining fare. Starring Ashley Walters and Noel Clarke – who also dreamt up the six-part series – this week’s opener follows maverick NCA officers Ronnie Pike and Aaron Bishop as they pursue a gang of European car thieves. Apparently, the show was inspired by 1995 Hollywood movie Bad Boys, yet fans of the recent Lethal Weapon TV incarnation will also be at home amid the flying bullets and screeching tyres. Rating: ****

The World’s Most Wanted Animal, 8pm, BBC2

A truly extraordinary film about a little known but utterly adorable animal called the pangolin. The world’s only truly scaly mammal, this shy and secretive creature is also unfortunately the most trafficked animal in the world. Its scales are used in traditional Asian medicine and its meat is eaten. This film follows conservationist Maria Diekmann, who’s made saving the pangolin from extinction her life’s mission. Based in Namibia, Africa, Maria travels to Vietnam, Thailand and China to meet others who are passionate about saving this amazing creature and raise awareness of the pangolin’s plight. Narrated by David Attenborough. Rating: ****

The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds, 8pm, C4

What happens when you give a five year old a taste of power? That’s the question the experts are asking in tonight’s revealing concluding episode. First up is a dance competition with two of the five year olds as judges. Will the children show kindness and empathy for the funky moves of their contemporaries? Next, teachers Kate and Simon hand out a silver star: whichever child wears it is the boss. They give confident Iris control – and she uses it to her full advantage! New girl Sienna also lets the power go to her head, when she installs herself as queen and terrifies the rest of the group. As all young leaders need to learn – with great power comes great responsibility! Rating: *****
